We point out methods of approximation of the commutator Hamiltonian on a compact group $G$ with finite sums of the form $$å _{g Î G} å _{h Î G} m _g n _hghg^-1 h^-1, where $$å _{g Î G} m _g = 1 and $$å _{h Î G} n _h = 1.
